Kronosaurus queenslandicus The largest, Kronosaurus queenslandicus, was named from a fragment found near Hughenden. It was equipped to eat any other moderate to large animal in the sea. Kronosaurus, the most extreme Pliosaur, is illustrated from a 70% preserved skeleton that is 12.8m in length. This was restored at Harvard University (pictured at right at Harvard) after it was removed from the region in the early 1930's. Its head was over 3.2m long. The skeletal mural is ¾ of its estimate life size. On the front wall of the museum is a life-sized mural of Kronosaurus queenslandicus. |
