Ichthyosaurs

Ichthyosaurs reached 7m long, and were remarkably, well-engineered swimmers.  As a group their species wer less varied than Sauropterygia.  Ichthyosaurs bore young at sea.  lchthyosaurs died out earlier than Sauropterygia, during a stormy epoch called the Turonian Stage that occurred 80 million years ago. Sauropterygia may have kept a turtle/crocodile habit of nesting ashore.
