Fossil Squid Display The fossil squid display contains probably the largest fossil squid in the world so far discovered. These are 8 armed squid, from the group that gave rise to the octopus. The longest a Boreopeltis soniae is the same length along its skeletal brace as the 1.3m. A small modern squid is painted on the wall of the display. Modern squid reaching 3m along the brace or gladius have been washed ashore. Larger examples have been photographed in the deep sea. |
